Bloom's Taxonomy will provide a way to differentiate instruction in a critical way. The reading I have provided consists of a chart with definitions of each of Bloom's Taxonomy as well as verbs that you can use to categorize and develop activities at each level.
Multiple Intelligences activity uses the "multiple intelligences" reading, that is found under 'Teacher Resources.' This activity uses the 'Art and Social Studies' Chart to pick an activity for each intelligence and they are all aligned with essential questions and common core, which are found on the activity.
Visual Discovery Activities that I have created consist of three different activities., which contain images that are primary documents. These are activities that you may use and complete as a class.
Activity 1: Bloom's Taxonomy Questions: Knowledge: Tell what you see in the image? Knowledge: List what the two me are doing? Comprehension: Describe the other people you see and what they are doing? Analysis: Classify what these people are wearing? Application: Construct an idea of how you can connect what these men are doing the picture to how they lived during this time and obtained their food?
The first authentic writing activity has students drawing a picture of two people helping each other learn how to grow some kind of food. Then, with the help from the teacher, they will write a short sentence telling who the people represent from the Native American time period when the Pilgrims came over and what important resource they are growing.
The second authentic writing activity has students writing a postcard to the author of The Legend of the Bluebonnet, Tomie dePaolo. There is a postcard already made on this assignment with the directions already on it.
The second intriguing preview activity follows a SmartBoard activity that the class will complete together. The SmartBoard activity will be emailed due to the file size being too big.
The first innovative reading note connects to the story, The Legend of the Bluebonnet. They will be drawing four things that the Native Americans and Pilgrims did to survive with the provided image.
The second innovative reading note connects to the SmartBoard activity from the second 'intriguing preview activity.' After learning how to grow corn, students will draw their own process of how corn is grown on the flowchart. The SmartBoard activity will be emailed due to the file size being too big.
The first processing assignment has students creating a statement explaining what they will do to make their community a better place. However, you may complete this activity as a class and brainstorm different methods that students can do to help their community and make a class list.
The second processing assignment has the students thinking creatively. They will be drawing a picture of someone who might've attended an early Thanksgiving celebration. They will name the person and give them an authentic costume.
